Dust Cleanup From Adjacent Apartment Renovation

Project Overview

Although no renovation work was performed inside this apartment, extensive construction taking place in the unit directly below allowed fine dust to migrate throughout the home. Dust traveled through shared plumbing and radiator chases, settling on hardwood trim, cabinetry, stone surfaces, windowsills, artwork, furniture, and other interior finishes.
Post Green Cleaning was hired to perform a post-construction cleaning using professional HEPA dust removal methods to eliminate the fine construction dust that had spread throughout the apartment. The goal was to restore a clean living environment and prepare the home for safe, comfortable occupancy.

Scope Of Work

Construction dust can travel much farther than many people expect, especially in multi-unit buildings where apartments share utility chases, pipe openings, and structural cavities. Even when remodeling is confined to another unit, fine airborne particles can migrate into neighboring homes and settle throughout the property.
Our technicians performed a detailed top-to-bottom cleaning using commercial HEPA vacuums, microfiber detailing, and damp wiping techniques designed to safely remove fine construction dust from finished surfaces. Special attention was given to decorative woodwork, stone countertops, windowsills, cabinetry, furniture, and other areas where dust had accumulated.
Throughout the project, the team carefully inspected surfaces by hand to identify hidden dust that remained after the initial cleaning. This detailed process helped ensure fine particles were removed from cracks, trim profiles, furniture, and other difficult-to-reach areas before the apartment was returned to the homeowner.
