Historic Brownstone Post-Renovation Cleaning

Project Overview

Following interior renovations, this historic New York brownstone required a detailed post-construction cleaning before the homeowners could comfortably occupy the space. Despite dust barriers used during construction, fine renovation dust settled throughout the property, including the original hardwood floors, staircases, decorative woodwork, trim, and other historic architectural features.
Post Green Cleaning was hired to perform a comprehensive HEPA cleaning designed specifically for older homes with delicate finishes. Our goal was to safely remove construction dust, protect the property’s original character, improve indoor air quality, and prepare every room for everyday living.

Scope Of Work

Historic brownstones require a more detailed cleaning approach than most modern homes because fine renovation dust easily settles into decorative woodwork, stair railings, moldings, and original hardwood flooring. Our technicians carefully cleaned each surface using HEPA-filtered vacuums, soft wood floor brush attachments, microfiber detailing, and specialized dust removal methods designed for delicate finishes.
Every staircase, hallway, room, and architectural detail was cleaned systematically to prevent dust from being redistributed throughout the home. Industrial HEPA air filtration equipment was also utilized during the project to capture airborne particles and support cleaner indoor air while final cleaning was completed.
Particular care was taken around the home’s original wood staircases, trim, railings, and other historic finishes where construction dust can collect in detailed surfaces and joints. Each area was cleaned methodically using techniques designed to preserve the character of the property while achieving a thorough final clean.
